about me

I was born in the United States and I grew up in Mumbai, India where I went to high school. In my last two years of high school I chose electronics as a subject. I enjoyed the theory as well as practical aspect of electronics which is why I decided to pursue electrical engineering as my major in my undergraduate degree. In 2018 I graduated from the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. As part of my course I also chose Computer Science as my technical breadth area. After graduation I worked at Cisco Systems in California as a Network Engineer two years. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Computing Science (Software Engineering) at Imperial College in London. I particularly like working on projects that combine hardware and software, since these allow me to exploit my electronics background as well as my passion for computer science.

Work Experience

Cisco Systems - Technical Consulting Engineer (Customer Delivery) (July 2018 - August 2020)

I was a part of the SD-WAN team in the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) organization. Cisco's SD-WAN solution helps customers reduce network costs with transport independence across MPLS, 3G/4G LTE, etc. and simplify operations with automation and cloud-based management. As part of this team I worked on:

  • Helping customers troubleshoot network issues related to the SD-WAN solution live in high-pressure situations
  • Working on routers as well as cloud-based management software as part of the solution to deliver a resolution efficiently and increase customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining a customer frustration tool in Python that detects bad customer sentiment in emails and sends alerts to managers and directors for them to work with the engineer to rectify the situation
  • Increased automation in Cisco’s backend by creating intellectual capital to automatically detect issues for engineers working with customers
  • Automating various client and team processes by leveraging internal resources and the SD-WAN solution’s REST API with Python

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems - Systems Engineering Intern (July 2017 - September 2017)

I worked on the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Satellite program on the Payload Systems Engineering team. AEHF provides secure and protected communication to the military and the government. The payload team is responsible for all the communication systems on the satellites. I performed the following tasks:

  • Created tools in MATLAB and Python to analyze test data for satellites in production
  • Worked in classified areas to process telemetry data from satellites in orbit
  • Used CAD to design a camera mount and gimbal for a satellite repairing robot as a side assignment with the Robotics lab

AEi Systems LLC - Engineering Intern (June 2016 - May 2018)

AEi Systems is a world leader in the Space market for Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), radiation and reliability analysis, SPICE modeling and RF and power systems analysis. I work at the Los Angeles office based in Westchester. During the summer of 2016 I worked full-time and now I work part-time so that I can continue my education. I perform the following tasks:

  • Create SPICE models for various circuit elements under the guidance of senior engineers using software such as SpiTAN and KEMET Spice
  • Independently capture circuits using SPICE software such as PSpice, Intusoft and LTspice
  • Simulate circuits for various analysis such as Stability, Startup Inrush and Conducted Susceptibility
  • Analyze data using Excel and write technical reports for each of the analysis performed
